Reiki Healing

Reiki is an energetic healing system that is beneficial on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. The energy that is channelled is known by many names - Chi energy, Prana, Universal Life Force to name but a few. This energy flows through all living things and the Reiki practitioner harnesses it for the purpose of channeled healing. Many different disciplines stem from the knowledge of energy in and around us, including acupuncture, feng shui and tai chi to name but a few.

Eastern philosophies and many complementary health care individuals believe that illness and disease starts in a person's energy field, also known as the auric field. If an illness is serious it has probably taken a long time for the symptoms to show in the physical body. Reiki energy is channeled into the client and will remove blockages and weaknesses in the energy field, which in turn will affect the physical body.

To some people the above description may sound very mystical but to bring it into a scientific perspective let me mention this. In Quantum Physics scientists are exploring the very minute particles of life, smaller than the atom. They have a quest to see what the building blocks of life are. At one time the atom was the smallest thing known to man and then scientists learned how to divide the atom and, hey presto, sub-atomic particles were found. These particles act in strange and unprecedented ways. They are too small to see even with the most powerful of microscopes so scientists can only measure them by measuring the way things act around them. Strange things occur at this level and they have found that particles (ie bits of things) also act as waves and this occurs at the same time. Confused yet? In simple terms, we are all made up of energy and it seems that the more powerful the microscopes the less there is to see… it is energy, energy, energy. Energy that can act in strange ways, energy that changes depending on what the observer is thinking about. The scientists and the mystics are drawing closer together…. And this is why Reiki Healing can help as it works on energy and we are all energy bodies.


What to expect in a treatment:

The client will lay comfortably on my therapy couch. Soft music will be playing and there may be candles and incense to increase the feelings of security and ambience. The Reiki practitioner will channel universal energy by the laying on of hands. It is a non-intrusive therapy and does not involve massage. Often the client will feel heat, coolness or tingles where the hands are placed. Some clients have experiences of "seeing colours" behind their closed eyelids or feeling that many pairs of hands are being used. These, and other phenomena, are of a spiritual nature and often spirit guides and healers from other realms assist in these sessions. Sessions normally last for an hour and cost £20.00. A half hour treatment is £12.50.


Reiki Healing with Chakra Balancing

This is the same as above but on completion of the normal reiki session I will use my crystal pendulum to dowse the client’s chakras and find out whether they are functioning correctly. This allows me to target reiki energy particularly at those chakras that are weakened or need extra energy.

There are seven major chakras in the body which run from the top of the head (the crown) through the length of the spine (the root). These chakras act as energy centres. If you imagine your body as a network of roads, the chakras would be the roundabouts where there is an influx of cars (energy) from many different directions. If there is a blockage or hold up of energy at those centres it can cause disruption in different parts of the body, much like a road can become congested with traffic. It is my aim to get that energy flowing freely and smoothly for the holistic benefit of the client. The charge for the Reiki Healing together with Chakra Balancing is £27.00.
